With a regular stream of media reports about cancer clusters in workplaces, chemical exposures and concerns about technology such as mobile phones and other devices, Australian workers are feeling increasingly anxious about their cancer risk at work.
But what are the real risks of occupational cancer and what can employers do to safeguard their workers?
Cancer Council australia and the ACTU have joined forces to present an Australian first, kNOw cancer in the workplace, a national forum which will explore the issue of workplace cancer and the challenges facing employers in protecting their employees and communicating about cancer issues.
Hear from Australian and international scientific experts, including Pam Eliason from the Toxic Reduction Institute at the University of Massachusetts, Canadian based international OH&S consultant Larry Stoffman and head of the International Agency for Research on Cancer's scientific reviews of environmental risk factors, Vincent Cogliano.
