Dear Forum
Over the last week the media has been reporting on an "interim report" over the Gungahlin Drive bridge collapse. Can any tell me if this interim report is publicly available and from where it can be downloaded?

Hi Kevin
I am chasing up for you the issue of public availability of this report. This report, of course, is primarily about the contracting issues and not the OHS issues. The latter are the subject of the WorkSafe ACT invesigation which is ongoing at this stage.

Even though the report is about contracting, it is of considerable interest for establishing the project safety targets, reporting mechanisms and consultation procedures so that there is the best chance of preventing injuries and illnesses.
WorkSafe Victoria has recognised the role of procurement in safety management through a guidance released in Octobver 2010, a document that has great potential in getting safety clearly on the agenda of project designers and managers.
Good morning Kevin
There is or was a copy of a report by SMA Engineering for Roads ACT on their website that mkes interesting reading. It includes correspondence between all the parties involved plus engineering reports and photo's regarding what was designed for the supporting structure and formwork and what was actually built which was rather different.
If it's still there it makes an interesting read. I have a copy on my home computer if you have trouble.
Cheers
