IMPORTANT - Ads on the Forum
I have noticed that some barely-disguised advertisements are starting to creep onto the Forum's pages. While they are not at a level yet to be too annoying (or are they? what do you think?), if we allow their growth to go unchecked they could become so, possibly crowding out genuine debate and information sharing.
How do people feel about this?
We have the power to 'moderate' (i.e. remove) these.
While I am not generally in favour of censorship, the Site Rules, which have been up there from Day 1, clearly say that Advertising is not permitted.
It's your site - what do you think?

Mmmmm I see what you mean about advertising "creeping" in. I was always of the belief that the forum was to pass around ideas, thoughts and the various issues regarding E&HOS (after all they are all interconnected). Maybe a lot of people are sitting on their collective hands and waiting for someone else to say something controversial.
Anyway the Forum (see Macquarie Dictionary, a meeting for the discussion of questions of public interest) and is not the place for even more advertising. We are being bombarded enough as it is.
Te be contoversial, has anyone out in the public space had direct dealings with any of the local (ACT) insulation subcontractors?? I have, and it was really scary. The 3 people who came to carry out the insulation up grade at my house were unbelievable. No protective clothing, gear of any sort and an ancient domestic grade ladder that BEARLY reached the guttering at the lowest point at the back of my place.As for a SWMS! They didn't have have a clue what I was talking about (Lack of spoken English was a contributing factor).
Later, when I paid the difference to the local name supplier of insulating product and mentioned what I had seen! what was the problem???
Scary stuff out in the real world.

Hi Mark,
It is strange - almost as if this issue was ignored - but since publishing this forum there has been an increase of the promotion of training etc on the forum pages. I believe that these things can only be promoted on one's own Groups and in the training calander.
I would hate to see the forum loose it's focus on issues etc and become a "Trading Post" for safety.
What do others think?
