Hi Everyone,

I just can't help thinking that this site is extremely under-used and it's such a shame because it could be a very good tool.

I get regular updates from QLD, NSW and VIC and hardly anything from here.

Is there and chance it can be jazzed up a bit or (reluctantly) I will take it off my favourites and replace with NSW.

I am new to OHS in Australia and especially the ACT - so anything that could be done would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Val

I agree, the site is presently underutilized.
What would you like to see happening here?

There are lots of changes ahead for the ACT and other jurisdictions, much to discuss.
This forum could be an ideal place to provide information to the ACT community and discuss the changes.
Having read your comments about this Site's underutilization, I agree. When it was started by Mark McCabe there was general agreement that it was a "good thing and much needed" because there is a great body of OHS information on problems and answers amoungst the OHS practitioners in the various industries in Canberra and this Forum was a great way to share that information around.
So what happened! There was an initial rush of comment, then quiet. A few of us have tried to "fire things up" by being a little bit controversial at times.
Even some of ACT WorkSafe information is a bit light at times with reports that are no longer relevant.
I also access the HSE UK website which is a great source of up to date OHS information. They also fund a lot of relevant OHS research into problems in a variety of industries.
I'm not sure what the answer is, maybe people regard themselves as too busy or just don't want to share issues and answers
Yes - we all think it would be a grand idea to get more action going on here - but nothing so far.

Not sure what else we can do... it's a pity really.

The success of workplace safety programming depends largely upon what top workplace management knows and thinks about safety, what they expect from their safety program, and how much time, money, staff resources, and personal involvement they will invest in it.
