Member Behaviour
Member behaviour is critical to the success or otherwise of this Forum.
In order to join this Forum, a person must Sign Up or Register. Once approved, they become Members. With membership comes responsibilities, though these are no more or less than would be expected of us in the workplace.
Members must treat others (not just other Members but non-Members as well) with respect and courtesy.
Members must also behave in a way that is professional. Offensive behaviour or the use of, reference to or uploading of offensive material will not be tolerated. Once again, if it won't be tolerated in the workplace it won't be tolerated here either.
Postings must not be threatening or abusive or an attack on other Members. Postings must not be of an offensive nature, indecent or pornographic.
Refusal to abide by these rules could result in:
- a warning, or
- removal of the material in question, or
- withdrawal of membership, or
- a combination of the above.
The Site Administrator, and any Moderators appointed by the Site Owner (the Office of the ACT OHS Commissioner), reserve the unreserved right to remove material and or ban Members at any time.
Content
The Safety Forum enables members to upload material for sharing with others (files, videos, photos, etc.). The Member who has uploaded such information remains responsible for any copyright or similar obligations under any relevant law. While the site stores such information on their behalf, it is still the Member's material and the Safety Forum accepts no responsibility for the accuracy of such material or for obligations in terms of copyright, intellectual property rights and the like pertaining to it.
Use Common Sense
Members should not post personal information such as telephone numbers, addresses, etc. (though businesses may choose to do so for commercial reasons). Always give careful consideration to the information you post about yourself on this site and which you therefore choose to share with others.
User Name and Password
Members must sign up using their real name or business name. The use of false names only creates the prospect of deception or misuse of a Member account. You should never choose to sign up using the name of another person.
You are entirely responsible for maintaining the security of your password. A Member may not use another Member's account or password at any time, or disclose any Member's password (including their own) to a third party. You should
notify the Office of the ACT OHS Commissioner if you suspect unauthorised use of an account or a password at any time.
You should never respond to an online request for a password other than in connection with the log-in process. Any disclosure of your own password is entirely at your own risk and will not be accepted as a reason for inappropriate use of your account.
Advertising
Advertisements should not be posted on the Forum, other than on a Member's own 'My Page'. This is a social networking site, not another opportunity for advertising. The posting of advertising has the potential to seriously diminish the experience for other Members.
That having been said, businesses/consultants/providers/suppliers are encouraged to join the Forum and actively participate - and there are many ways for those Members to promote and/or explain their services and products using the Forum. This will no doubt be an invaluable element of the Forum experience. We simply ask that Members do this in a way that does not flood the site with promotional material.
A
Provider listing and a
Training Calendar link has been provided as a valid means for such Members to promote their services and products. The Events listing should be reserved for special events and should not include training courses.
The Office of the ACT OHS Commissioner is also open to reasonable suggestions regarding other ways businesses can promote their products and services without impinging upon the enjoyment of the site by other Members.
