I was a Safety Inspector for WorkCover NSW for almost 20 years and I am now trying to "give back" some of what I learned during those years.
I see that one of the most important issues is recognising that OHS often has to be a "balancing act".
I am NOT promoting "loop holes" but short cuts used responsibly can often be more affordable and therefore acceptable.
I am encouraged to see that some Agencies / Authorities are publicly recognising the benefits of an organisation engaging OHS professionals to assist them in meeting their OHS obligations. We still have a road to travel in that direction but we are at least now "on the road".
